Yoga, Meditation, and Spiritual Awakening in Bali, Indonesia
Each day we focus on awareness, connecting mind, body, and soul. Through daily yoga practices, nourishing meals, and a combination of both restful meditations and rejuvenating cultural adventures, our itinerary cultivates a unique energetic flow enhanced by the sweet jungle life of Bali. This trips offers rest, renewal, restoration, and revitalization, as well as new explorations and expressions of ceremony and ritual.
Settling into a Balinese lifestyle, we begin each day with yoga. Mornings open to the sounds of the waves crashing along the beach as we flow in an oceanside shala. We transition seamlessly into afternoons of adventure and cultural experience, weaving our way along world-class surf breaks and up and into the lush forests and city-center markets steeped in Balinese ritual. After dining on healthy, flavorful meals, evenings end in reflection, peace, and the opportunity for personal time – often following a gentle evening meditation session.
Experience a new part of the world at the same time you’re experiencing new parts of yourself. Diving into ourselves amidst beautiful natural surroundings, we experience new sources of understanding and awakening.
Jackie Kuiper, RYT-200, is the founder of Allium Awake Retreats and is globally recognized by the Yoga Alliance as an RYT-200 yoga instructor. She grew up as a competitive swimmer, and eighteen years ago also gained an interest in yoga. She’s developed her yogic practice to include vinyasa, hatha, yin, ashtanga, anusara, and “flow” yoga styles, and in 2016, spent 5 weeks in Bali obtaining her certification as a yoga instructor with Meghan Currie’s yoga teacher training program. While earning her JD at William Mitchell College of Law, she worked full time as a NASM-certified personal trainer at Bally’s, where she first became an indoor cycling instructor. She later worked for Lifetime Athletic Club, and taught a “spin” class of elite athletes at the downtown Minneapolis Lifetime Athletic Club for more than eight years. Jackie has explored shamanic healing, chakra-based energy work, reiki, intuitive guidance, meditation, and other holistic modalities of healing and personal growth. She’s traveled extensively and lives life in the blended balance of her passions for traveling, fitness, culture, beauty, adventure, and rest. Her mission with Allium Awake is to immerse you in an integrated, guided experience that helps you increase awareness, overcome “burnout,” learn ways to cope with anxiety and stress, explore new wellness modalities, and elevate your overall level of wellbeing.
Bali is a leading destination for yoga and spiritual retreats. Bali is also internationally recognized as a unique center of healing energy, arts, and culture. Discover spectacular spas, tropical resorts, holistic practitioners, and world-class surf breaks.
At our retreat site, we experience deep rest and relaxation. Surrounded by kind-hearted Balinese, our destination offers a serene, secure environment, boasting beautiful accommodations with open-air showers, fresh frangiapani or passionfruit vines hanging over the eaves of the rooms, a healthy and flavorful restaurant menu, complimentary WiFi, and a specially designed Yoga Shala for yoga and other physical and spiritual disciplines.
Our destination was designed to keep local Balinese traditions, communities, and environments in mind. This space allows us to soak in an organic lifestyle in harmony with nature: sunbathe, surf, or swim right from the glittering black-sand beach, lounge by the pool, enjoy massages on oceanside platforms, sip from fresh coconuts, and practice yoga in an open-air, jungle-style setting.
